The Outsmarting Antisemitism website is independent and not affiliated with any organizations. It was built by community members who came together at a grassroots level to combat the alarming rise in antisemitism. Recent data shows antisemitic incidents in Canada reached an unprecedented 6,219 reported cases in 2024 – a 124% increase since 2022 (B’nai Brith Canada, “Annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents 2024,” April 7, 2025). The website serves as an important collection of resources to empower anyone who wants to learn, teach, identify, advocate, and combat ignorance and antisemitism.
outsmartingantisemitism.com is objective but not neutral. To quote Elie Wiesel, “We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim”. In a time when 82% of Canadian Jews report feeling less safe in their communities, taking a stand is more crucial than ever (The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), “Survey on Jewish Safety in Canada,” 2024). The community members who built the website are proud Jews and Zionists. We believe all Jews should be able to live proudly and safely wherever they please. The Jewish people have the right to a state in their ancestral homeland; not an exclusively Jewish country, but a state where Jews can exercise their right to sovereignty, self-determination, and be free from fear and persecution.

Our Purpose
Antisemitism is neither a theoretical nor a hypothetical problem. It is real and it tragically continues to exist alongside every Jewish community in the world. Though we have lots to be proud of as Canadians, antisemitism is alive and well in our country, and the numbers speak for themselves.
Some numbers that help illustrate the problem are as follows:
- There are only about 14.8 million Jews in the world, representing only 0.2% of the world’s population (Pew Research Centre).
- In Canada, it is estimated that there are about 350,000 Jews, representing only 1% of the Canadian population (World Population Review).
- In 2024, antisemitic incidents in Canada reached an unprecedented 6,219 reported cases – the highest number since record-keeping began in 1982 (B’nai Brith Canada, “Annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents 2024,” April 7, 2025).
- Despite constituting less than 1% of Canada’s population, Jews were the target of 19% of all hate crimes in 2023 (The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), “Jewish Community Victimized in Hate Crimes,” 2024).
- The surge has been relentless: reported incidents rose by 109.1% from 2022 to 2023 and continued to increase in 2024 (B’nai Brith Canada, “Antisemitism in Canada Reaches New Heights,” May 6, 2024).
- A 2024 survey revealed that 82% of Canadian Jews now feel less safe in their communities (The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), “Survey on Jewish Safety in Canada,” 2024).
Outsmarting Antisemitism
These numbers are always changing, but the one fact that remains static is this: antisemitism exists. It is the greatest conspiracy theory in history, and targets the Jewish community in different forms, at different times.
Understanding antisemitism is a crucial element of countering it. Countering it takes courage and an understanding of the facts versus the myths that are out there. This website is thus intended to be a resource for those seeking to understand and combat today’s incarnation of antisemitism.
